How to use your HAP Medicare plan and its benefits

Your allowance will roll over to the next quarter if not used, but the full amount must be used by the end of the year and will not roll over.

Two ways to order over-the-counter products:

• Place an order by phone at (877) 484-7977 (TTY: 711) or online.
• We offer two ways for our members to order over-the-counter products: online or by phone. No matter which way you order, your items will be shipped directly to your door. You can also use retail stores such as Meijer, Family Dollar, CVS, Walgreens, Walmart and other participating stores near you.

Your HAP Medicare Advantage plan covers you for a yearly routine eye exam and has extra allowances for eyewear including frames, lens and contacts.

How to get started: 

• Find an eye doctor who accepts your HAP insurance.
• Call the doctor to coordinate your eye exam and the allowance will be applied at checkout.

Your HAP Medicare Advantage plan comes with preventive dental administered by Delta Dental. It includes two oral exam, two cleanings and set of bitewing X-rays per calendar year. Full mouth x-rays are covered once every 5 years. See Evidence of Coverage for Comprehensive dental coverage and more details about your plan. Your comprehensive and preventive maximum yearly benefit is $2,000. 

You may also purchase additional dental coverage within 30 days of your effective date. Supplemental dental coverage can be canceled at any time.

How to get started:

• Find an in-network dentist online or call Delta Dental at 800-330-2732 (TTY:711). You may see an out-of-network dentist, it will cost you more out of pocket.

Your HAP Medicare Advantage plan covers a cover a routine hearing exam and a fitting/ evaluation exam for hearing aids. This benefit is administered by Nations Hearing.

How to get started:

• Call 877-484-7977 to schedule your hearing exam at an audiologist or hearing instrument specialist near you.
• Take your hearing exam. If you need hearing aids, Nations Hearing will work with HAP to get you the highest quality device to fit your specific needs.
• Your hearing aid copay will range from $0 to $1,575 per unit depending on the technology needed.

Get started in 3 easy steps

1. Go to SilverSneakers.com/StartHere to create an online account.
2. Log in to view your member ID number and take that to a participating location.
3. Start a healthy routine with the support you need! You can also enjoy virtual workouts online through your new account.
